A Yorkshire farmer’s daughter, Alison qualified from Liverpool University in 1989. She worked in practice for several years before pursuing a career with Hills Pet Nutrition and MARS, discovering the customer experience passion that her award-winning company, Onswitch, is renowned for today. Established in 2001, Onswitch promotes customer-centred practice so pets, horses and livestock receive better care; providing research, marketing, CPD and business consultancy with an effective, innovative, straight-talking and client-led approach.
Alison is Honorary Associate Professor at Nottingham University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Science. She is published widely, regularly speaks at key international veterinary congresses and events, and was given the AVA’s Veterinary Business Thought Leader award in 2019.
After taking up an internship with Onswitch in 2014 during her degree at Nottingham Trent University, Sophie continued working with the team throughout her studies, and has never left! Graduating with a first-class honours degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship stood Sophie in good stead for her first official role of Project Coordinator and helped her develop rapidly into her current position of Operations Director; managing Onswitch’s operations across UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
She lives in Leicestershire with her partner and loves to travel to new places.
Sophie first started at Onswitch 2016 as an intern, continuing to work here throughout her university course until graduating with a first-class honours degree in Business. Her first role was Sales and Marketing Executive, and she has since progressed to become Research Manager, with particular focus on the Onswitch Index. In this crucial area she works with practice teams across the UK and Europe to deliver a great client experience on the phone and improve caller conversion.
Away from the office she has thrown herself into her community as a Governor of a local secondary school. In her spare time Sophie is a keen traveller, having recently interrailed through Europe and travelled to North Africa to build a school. You can be sure she is currently planning the next adventure!
Having come to Onswitch in 2011, Danny has stayed in the role he loves (and is so good at!) ever since. As Sales Administrator for Bertha he estimates that he has probably spoken to just about everybody in the veterinary sector a thousand times!
Away from work Danny is a devoted family man, he has just welcomed a new addition to the fold. He now has two beautiful daughters, two cats and an elderly dog, so life is never boring!
Since joining Onswitch in 2015, Carole has held a role in the Bertha Team at HQ. Originally from Leicester, she also lived in Skegness before settling in Grantham and becoming an Onswitcher.
Carole loves dogs, and has fond memories of her three Labradors Bruce, Sam and Kim. Unfortunately, her current flat does not allow pets and so she gets her animal fix from spending the working day with the furry family members of her colleagues, who can often be found underneath a desk at work!
Andy covers many thousands of miles each year, safely steering Bertha Bus around the country for training days. He is passionate about his job and makes a great cuppa – always working hard to ensure attendees of Onswitch’s training courses have a comfortable and fun day.
An ardent follower of Tottenham Hotspur football club, Andy is originally from Essex but now lives in Newmarket with his partner and son.
Shawny is the newest member of the Onswitch team, having joined us in December 2018 in the central role of Onswitch Index Coordinator. She brought with her a wealth of experience from the retail sector and enjoys meeting new people.
Shawny shares her home with two fur babies currently but has aspirations to expand and create a whole zoo in the house!
